Barack Obama Campaign Managers, Spin Masters and Handlers Considered

As we watch the Barack Obama campaign make mistake after mistake in addressing the issues, we also see an attempt to compare him to Abraham Lincoln, Ronald Reagan and even Martin Luther King. Indeed, these are all very noble and wise men to compare Barack Obama to, but I would like to take this opportunity to compare Barack Obama to Ralph Nader.

In fact, Ralph Nader and Barack Obama are both inline on many key issues, and it seems to me that you could pick either of these two candidates if you believed in certain things, as their rhetoric, politics and message is very much the same on most of the main issues. There are only a few real differences. First, Barack Obama clearly by observation is not nearly as smart as Ralph Nader, at least that is my opinion, and I’d have to wager probably Ralph Nader is a good 20-25 points higher than Barack Obama in IQ.

Next, Barack Obama has a lot more money than Ralph Nader, as MoveOn.org has really assisted him, thus, he can outspend even Hilary Clinton’s political Machine.

One thing that might be nice is to see Ralph Nader as a running mate with Barack Obama, that would give a little intelligence to Barack Obama’s message, rather than all this flowery rhetoric and rosy speeches read from clay tablets.

So far, Barack Obama has tried to distance himself from Ralph Nader, but that will prove to be a mistake, as Ralph Nader’s type of follower is very much part of Barack’s voting base. If Barack gets the nomination, Ralph Nader will take significant votes from Barack and as the election process goes on it could cost Barack the general election. If Ralph Nader gets 2-4% of the vote, as Barack’s followers get tired of all talk and no substance, then John McCain might easily walk away with it. Leaving Democrats holding the bag for falling once again for a candidate with no substance behind the words.

This of course, is my opinion and Barack Obama’s spin masters, campaign managers and handlers are getting a little cocky in my view, and its only a matter of time until Barack Obama buries himself. And if Ralph Nader ever debates with Barack Obama, then Barack does not stand a chance on his own. He’ll need a special WiFi listening device in his ear to debate with Ralph Nader, who can probably hold his own against anyone. I write this from a non-biased opinion, I am voting NOA in this next election, cause I am just tired of all the BS anyway – what about you?

Construction Management Theories

Abraham Harold Maslow was an American theorist who studied the needs of humans and how satisfying these needs can motivate people to work harder and be happy. He started his studies observing the behaviour of monkeys. Whilst researching the monkeys he realised that some needs took priority over others. He took these ideas and produced his famous hierarchy of needs.

At the bottom of this hierarchy were the physiological needs of the person. These needs included water, oxygen, heat, vitamin C, rest, avoiding pain and having sex. The lack of these physiological needs leads to the body craving for things that have satisfied these needs before.

Above the physiological needs are safety needs. When most of the physiological needs are met people start to worry about security. Things such as having a home in a safe area, savings for the future and job security all satisfy this need.

After the previous two areas are satisfied love and belonging needs set in.

The need for friendship, a lover, children or just a sense of community are what the person desires at this stage.

At level four esteem needs are required to satisfy the persons happiness. Maslow split this into a lower and higher level of need. The lower is a need for respect, status, attention and recognition. The higher stage concerns self-respect and independence. These are valued as higher in the chart as they come from within the person and are harder to lose.

At the very top of the model is self-actualization. This stage is where a person has a constant aspiration to fulfil their potential. The need to feel complete and be all they can be. Maslow suggested that only two percent of the worlds’ population ever reach the self-actualization stage.

Clayton Alderfer further developed Maslow’s work. He suggested that the five stages identified by Maslow could be reduced to three areas. He called this his Existence, Relatedness and Growth theory. The physiological and safety stages in Maslow’s hierarchy became the existence category in Alderfer’s theory. The interpersonal love and esteem stages became the relatedness category and the self-esteem and self-actualization stages became he growth category. He also suggested that these categories all function simultaneously and the importance of each stage varied between people and even with their mood.

This theory can be applied in construction management by viewing the company as a whole and applying the stages of Maslow’s Hierarchy of needs to it. Stage one sees the project being undertaking as having resources, which are needed for it to begin. These may include tools, drawings and the relevant workers for the project. The company then needs financial backing or sufficient finances to begin the project, which relates to the security stage. They also need to have a feeling of security that they will be paid in full for the completed project.

Acceptance of the venture is what they would look for next. This could be acceptance from a planning department or from the surrounding community. The self-esteem stage would come into action when the project is well under way and the company can make sure that the development has been well planned and executed. The final stage of self-actualization can be reached by completing the project on time and to budget.

Taking this theory to an individual level in the construction industry is just as valid. Take a labourer for example: he needs tools and instructions to begin the process. He then needs to know that his job is secure otherwise he will not commit to the project. A sense of being accepted as part of the team would then satisfy the belonging need he has. The self-esteem stage can be achieved through praise and recognition for good work or the possibility of promotion. Self-actualization is very hard to achieve but it could be achieved through the job being completed to perfection.

Success and happiness does not count in isolation, this is the reason social need is embedded between esteem and physiological need in Abraham Maslows hierarchy of basic human needs. Love is an important part of our everyday life and is responsible for our self growth and success. Having bad relationships with your spouse, family members or even with your colleagues and friends will not cultivate achievement in your life. Valuable relationships should be given more importance in order to develop your personality as a whole. Despite great efforts, people usually fail to build healthy relationships and as a result they are left alone in the hour of need.

There is no second opinion that if a person honestly struggles to make good relationships with his loved ones and keeps on refining the process over time he will not face any problem regarding relationships. There are quite a few things people need to focus on in order to lead a happy life with peaceful relationship. First of all, you should define your values and boundaries with each related person to avoid any misunderstanding and divergence. This is quite simple; all you need is to be very clear in explaining your expectations from others and similarly their demands from your side.

Now once boundaries are set and everything is clear, you should try your best to make up things and put your earnest efforts in saturating the relationship with love, care, trust and support. Barack Obama – Handpicked by God?

So…it looks like Barack Hussein Obama will be our next president. And… it looks like God’s sovereign hand will play a part in the election of an American president yet again.

Funny, isn’t it? I mean the liberal democrats are adamant about keeping God out of our public lives and classrooms but they cannot seem to keep God from picking their own party’s nominee for America’s top job. For if there is no God in the heavens directing this electoral process, there is no way on earth, heaven or the place down below that merely seven short years after the tragedies of 9/11, a man with the name Barack Hussein Obama, becomes president of these United States of America. How ironic that just five years after the U.S. armed forces would invade Iraqi soil to destroy one Hussein, the people back home would put another Hussein in the White House.

This is not the only time God has interfered in American politics.

Abraham Lincoln was a country bumpkin who stumbled his way to an unlikely place in history. The first would-be president born outside the original 13 colonies, Lincoln’s family moved around much until at age 22 he decided to go it alone. Even though he was an avid reader, Lincoln had only 18-months formal education. As he was tall and strong, young Abraham made extra money wrestling and felling trees with an axe. Given his inauspicious beginnings, one could hardly think that this tall, lanky wrestler could ever aspire to, let alone attain, the position of the presidency. His list of failures in public and private affairs is well documented and yet somehow he was able to capture the impossible. And, without a doubt President Abraham Lincoln’s tenure continues to be one of most remarkable efforts in U.S. History. God’s choice in a troubled time he made the most of the opportunity.

Unlike Lincoln, William Jefferson Clinton had many successes in his early political life. As a senior in high school he was selected to Boys Nation by which he was allowed to shake the hand of then President John F. Kennedy. At age 20 while attending Georgetown he interned for U.S. Senator J. William Fulbright from Arkansas who at time was chairman of the Senate Foreign Affairs Committee. He was a Rhode’s Scholar and studied at Oxford; one of the first non-athletes to be selected for the prestigious award. In 1979 he became the nation’s youngest governor at age 33 and later president at age 46. President Clinton is a brilliant example of what a life can be if one takes the initiative and is willing to make the most of every opportunity. And yet Clinton’s rise to the American presidency was no less remarkable. In essence like Lincoln Clinton did not have the pedigree to be the White House’s chief resident. Born to a poor family in Arkansas, Clinton’s father died before he took his first breath. His mother was forced to leave him home with his grandparents while she worked in New Orleans to support them. Most every significant figure in his early life died before they were the age of 47. His mother remarried a drunk who beat her. Everything about his early environment cried out: destined to be a poor nobody! I’d dare say most of America had never heard of the Arkansas governor before he announced his candidacy three months before the first primary. That Bill Clinton ever became president is unbelievable; an act only God could bring about.

Some will read this article and point out that Obama’s rise is yet another example of the American dream — that the rise of these men was a combination of good decisions and a little dumb luck. Granted but many with much more going for them have attempted to make the climb to the top of the heap to no avail.

No. If Barack Obama becomes president then much to the chagrin of the liberal democrat pundits there is a God in heaven… not because Obama is necessarily the best man but because there is no way America elects a man named Barack Hussein Obama otherwise.

If you are planning on visiting Springfield, the capitol of Illinois, you should most definitely add the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum to your itinerary. As the sixteenth President of the United States, Lincoln is one of the greatest and most fondly remembered President in our history. The Lincoln Museum is a testament to his wondrous influence and is definitely a sight to be seen. If you will be visiting someone who is a patient at the Dwight Illinois hospital, make sure to spend some quality time at this awe-inspiring place.

The Lincoln Museum has many exhibits that are sure to capture the attention of each and every visitor. Just to walk into the Museum is a sight to behold. The Museum has high ceilings making the Museum feel spacious and welcoming. The main foyer of the Museum even has a replica of the U.S. Capitol building right inside it.

You can walk into this building and look at artifacts from Lincoln’s time. The display contains various items of Lincoln’s possessions and is always crowded with plenty of visitors.

The main foyer also has an exact replica of the log cabin that Lincoln grew up in. The small and humble quarters sure are a sight to be seen. The house contains plenty of items that furnish it from the time period in which Lincoln lived. Just to see how Lincoln lived as a boy is something that you won’t believe until you see it in person. You will really come to appreciate the advances in south Chicago healthcare when you see what it was like to live in the early 1800′s.

One of the most brilliant features of the Museum is the “Ghosts of the Library.” In this technical wonder, an actor is onstage and is visited by several people who are holograms.

The actor is even visited by Lincoln himself at certain times. The interaction between the actor and the holograms is so convincing, you might not know which one is real and which one is not!

The Union Theater – Lincoln Eyes is also a sight to see. This theater has several different screens that sometimes act as one big screen and at separate screens through the feature. This movie chronicles Lincoln’s life, from his successes as a President to his personal grief for his lost children. This theater involves the audience with loud speakers, rumbling seats and mists of water in the appropriate places.

So if you are going to be spending sometime in a Wilmington Illinois hospital, the Lincoln Museum is something that everyone should see. If you have the time, make sure to visit the memorial that does a wonderful job in celebrating this magnificent President.

Riverside Medical Center is the place for you to visit if you are looking for south Chicago healthcare you can trust. If you will be spending time in Illinois, Riverside Medical Center has plenty of information on the Wilmington Illinois hospital and the Dwight Illinois hospital, just in case!

Civil War Themed Chess Sets

The Civil War has also been known throughout history as the War for Southern Independence or even the War between the States. This conflict erupted in April of 1861 after the Election of Abraham Lincoln as 16th President to the United States.

Lincoln was very vocal about his opposition to the expansion of slavery. Since the southern states were highly dependent on slavery to support their economy, they viewed Lincoln’s election as President as a huge threat to their economic survival.

Just after his election the slave states who opposed his views launched an attack on the Union Troops at Fort Sumner. This was the event that initiated the war efforts, a war that would continue for almost four years until the last Confederate Troop surrendered in 1865.

The Emancipation Proclamation was put into effect in 1863, and this freed slaves that were not in territories under the Union control.

As Union solders advanced into the Confederate States, more and more Slaves were freed.

Lincoln and the Civil war put an end to slavery. Naturally a riveting game of chess played with Union and Confederate soldier pieces won’t change the face of history but can add some interesting elements to the challenge. When the war erupted in 1861, uniforms for soldiers were provided by a number of different sources, like wealthy families, towns or the state. This left the soldiers with a hodge podge look to their united front. In time, guidelines were put in place and the Union was represented in blue, and the Confederates of the south in grey. The playing pieces in the themed Civil War chess set reflect the color schemes and styles as set out by the Confederate and Union Armies.

In this article, there are five important issues:

1) Jehovah (and two other men) appeared to Abraham

2) Abraham Prostrated to Jehovah

3) Abraham invited Jehovah to:

a) Wash his feet

b) Rest under the tree

c) morsel of bread to strengthen Jehovah’s heart

d) a meal composed of cakes, butter, milk and the calf

4) Jehovah did all of that as he

In this story,

1) Abraham is the first man in the history who prostrated to Jehovah

In the Quran

1) Abraham’s visitors were the Angels; God was not one of them.

2) Abraham is NOT the first man in the history who prostrated to God.

3) Allah, the Almighty Creator, has no feet, he does not rest, He has no heart and He does not eat! Anyone who says or believe in that about the Almighty Creator will end up in the Eternal fire in the Hereafter.

This story of Abraham and his three visitors is mentioned in Genesis 18:1-8; it says:

Jehovah appeared to Abraham by the oaks of Mamre, as he sat in the tent door in the heat of the day;

Abraham lifted up his eyes and looked, and behold, three men were standing in front of him.

When he saw them, he ran from the tent door to meet them and bowed himself to the earth.

And Abraham said,

“O Lord, if I have found favor in your sight, do not pass by your servant
Let a little water, I pray you, be fetched, and wash your feet, and rest yourselves under the tree:
And I will fetch a morsel of bread, and strengthen ye your heart; after that ye shall pass on: forasmuch as ye are come to your servant.

And they said, “So do, as you have said.”

And Abraham hastened into the tent unto Sarah, and said: “Hasten three measures of flour-meal, knead, and make cakes;’

And Abraham ran to the herd and took a calf, tender and good, and gave it to a young man, who prepared it quickly.

And he took butter, and milk, and the calf which he had prepared, and set it before them.

And he stood by them under the tree while they ate.
