Question by Gigi: How is my beginning to my short story so far?
Hello! I just started writing this last night, and I was wondering how my start is? Thanks, and please be honest! If you see something wrong with it or just do not like it, than please tell me so! THanks! ((and I’m 15 incase you need an age.)

“I love you” I said as I smiled shyly into the beautiful face before me. Her name was Kate and we had dated for years. I had never spoken the words until that beautiful night on the beach. The soft, orange glow of the sunset illuminated her soft brown hair. Kate smiled softly and leaned forward, and whispered sweetly in my ear, “I love you too.” The feeling burst inside, I could not contain my happiness to hear her say those three, powerful words. The fear of rejection had eaten at me for months, and to finely say it, and hear it in return caused an unexplainable feeling. I smiled broadly, and held her hand. “Kaitlyn Marie, will you marry me?” I asked getting down on one knee, and opening a small ring box with a glistening diamond ring inside. My heart stopped, yet at the same time beated at an insane rate, and I felt it hard to breath. “Yes, I will!” she exclaimed joyfully, a tear streaking down her face. I slipped the small engagement ring slowly on her finger as we happily laughed softly. I stood up and looked down on my beautiful fiancé. “May I?” I asked holding out my hand down to her. Kate smiled, took my hand gently, and rose to her feet. We dance slowly, looking into each other’s eyes. “I love you so much” I whispered over and over again. It was all I could say; I was so happy and still a little shaky from the previous nervousness. I know you’re probably thinking “What? You didn’t kiss!” Truth be told, I, along with Kate, thought purity to be key. Neither of us would kiss or go any father than hugs and hand holding until marriage. Making it that much sweeter and special when the moment will finally come. “Let’s walk down the beach” Kate said with a smile. Kate always had a beautiful and unique personality. Never again would I meet such a magnificent girl in my life. She enjoyed simple things in life; walking in the rain, leaves falling in the fall, dancing under the stars; she was special. Her morals and faith were so remarkable, and was a huge part of what made her shine brightly among the dimly lit others. “Okay” I said as we started off, the sun to our backs. The ocean’s breeze blew softly, her hair blowing so calmly and perfectly. Her bare feet and beautiful white sundress complimented her stunning features well; her ring twinkling softly in the fading sunshine. “I’m speechless!” she burst out, a tear gently gliding down her cheek. “It doesn’t matter; your eyes say it all.” I said starring into hers. “How did I ever get lucky enough to get you?” I asked quizzically. “I mean, what made you ever look twice at a guy like me?” Kate laughed happily. “I was the lucky one. Besides, it was God’s plan all along.” I smiled, “God; who knew He had such an amazing future in store for me.” I looked at Kate, and than up to the sky. “Thanks” I said, the stars popping out one by one in the twilight sky.
“Tony, dance with me?” she asked, seeing the moon coming out. As I mentioned before, Kate found simple pleasure in her small term goals. One of those goals being to dance in the moonlight, wearing a white dress, with the ocean’s water’s lapping slowly ashore.
“Any day” I said taking her hand. I pulled her in close, smiled, than twirled her back out, than back into my arms. We swayed to and fro, my arms around hers; Kate laughed. “It’s just like I always pictured it” she said as I twirled her out again, the bottom of her lacy dress taking the shape of a bell. “I knew waiting, and not chasing, would do the trick,” She teased. I pulled her in close again, “I’m glad you did.”
“My mom will be so happy” Kate smiled, a happy, yet sad look appeared in her eyes, and I knew what she was thinking. “I’m sorry your dad didn’t live to walk you down the aisle Kate.” I said slowly, hugging her tightly. “Me too” she said, thinking. “I know that he is proud of you though, and that he will have the best seat in the house on our day!” I said reassuringly. Kate smiled, and I swayed slowly with her in my arms.
“So, where, my dear, do you want to be married?” I asked, trying to bring up her spirits again. Kate looked up at me smiling; “That’s one thing that has always been foggy.”
“What do you mean?” I asked. “I mean” she began, “ that I can’t figure out if I want to be married in the fall, in a wide open field, with brightly colored leaves flowing about..”
“Or?” “Or if I want to be married on the beach, with the sea breeze blowing in, and the soft sand beneath our feet.” I smiled, “I’m sure you’ll have a dream of it one night.”
By this time, the sun had completely set beneath the Earth, and the night was becoming briskly chilly. “Here” I said untying my sweater from around my waist, “Put this on.” I gently placed my blue jacket around her shoulders. “Hmm.” She sighed as she laid

thats great. it’s very descriptive and sooooooooo romantic and sweet. it makes my heart melt to read how sweet that Tony guy is… keep up the good work dude that was awesome. and for you to be only 15 its double awesome i would have thought you were at least 19-20 with this type of writing skill. if this ever became a book i would totally read it!!

Please help with a baby girl name…only new answers please!? One thing that may help…

I am looking for names that are not too old nor too common yet modern.

It’s so hard to top my daughter’s name? I’ve gotten answers on help with naming my second daughter (due in September). My FIRST daughter’s name is Kaylee Madison and I love that name. I am having a hard time choosing a name. I am way too picky and I’ve looked at tons of names online and in baby books, but I just get confused more.

There are so many name I DON’T love and WOULD NOT use for my daughter: some of these are: Elizabeth, Jennifer, Mary, Marie, Jessica, Laura, Sarah, Rebecca, Isabella, Zoe, Ava, Emma, Emily, Mia, Phoebe, Payton, Paige, Harper, Sophia, Daphne, Olivia, Valentina, Camila, Penelope, etc.

I don’t like names that mean something else in the dictionary, so no names of object (flower, nature, cars, etc), things, cities or countries … so no Brooke, Paris, London, Brooklyn, Phoenix, Serenity, Heaven, Diamond, Meadow, Dalilah, Rose, Violet, Willow, Autumn, Destiny, Aspen, Melody, Harmony, Mercedes, Amber, etc

I don’t like names that have Ana in it…so no RoxANa, ViviANA, JuliANA,

And I dont like names of disney or any cartoon characters such as: Ariel, Dorothy, Jasmine, Belle, Aurora,

No Celebrity names like: Mariah, Beyonce, Celine, Aaliyah, Gwyneth, Tyra, Selena, Miley, etc…

I ABSOLUTELY HATE UNISEX NAMES or anything that when shortened can become unisex: ALEXandra, ALEXia, SAMantha, DANnielle, EXCEPT if I use it as a middle name like I did MADISON for my first daughter.

Oh and finally no old school that date back to centuries ago like: Victoria, Eleanor, Meredith, Pamela, Martha, Theresa, Hillary, Antoinette, Gretta,

I have only chosen middle names: I like Skye and/or Allison for middle names.

I like names that have a long A in them… I loved Shaylee, but obviously it’s too matchy to Kaylee, so I would not/could not do that to my daughters.

Question by : Is my first chapter well written?
Please tell me, I don’t think it is. I need honest opinions.

“Now Pam, I expect not to hear any bad news from Ma, while you’re staying there. Understand?” Pam’s mother Tasha warned, her ebony skin glowing in the bright sun. She stood tall in black sky-high heels; she wore a pin striped navy blue business suit, her diamond studded brooch was clipped gracefully on the left collar of her blazer. Being the CEO of an advertisement company was very high status, and she loved showing off her importance.
“Yes Mother, I understand.” Pam replied monotonously, while picking the dirt from her bitten down nails. She never even gave her mother a second thought. Her back-pack was slung lazily over her shoulder, and she loosely held the handle of her roll-away luggage.
They both stood in front of the airport shuttle van pick up site, waiting patiently for it to show up. Today was the day Pam was to leave to go live with her Grandmother Dorothy, who stayed in a small town called Waterfall, Tennessee.
Tasha didn’t quite understand why her daughter wanted to live in such a small town, that literally consisted of only nine-hundred and eight people. But then again, Tasha didn’t understand her daughter. Pam was a conservative girl; her face always kept a bored expression, and she always spoke with zero emotion to her voice, almost like a robot. It was always so hard for Tasha, to tell what she was thinking.
“I hope you do. Ma agreed to take care of you for the school year, and it would be a shame if you gave her any trouble.” Tasha said.
“Yes, Mother.” Pam looked up from digging her nails, and stuck her hands in her pockets. Tasha cringed at her daughter’s appearance. Pam looked as if she had just gotten out of bed: hair tied up in a messy afro puff, dark elbows covered in ash, and she wore the unthinkable: sloppy…gray…sweatpants.
Why did I, let her leave the house today, Tasha thought, slightly embarrassed to be seen with her own daughter.
“Pamela Marie Jared, what are you are you wearing?” She said appalled.
“Wow, you’re just now noticing my clothes,” Pam said “Haven’t we been standing here for at least ten minutes, or better yet didn’t we leave the house together?”
Tasha opened her mouth to speak, then closed back up when her phone rung, looking at the number she’d quickly turned her back to Pam, and answered it.
“Hello, Tasha Davis speaking….ah, Ramona, it’s always a pleasure speaking with you. ” She continued her conversation, strutting slowly away from, Pam .
Pam sighed. Predictable, She thought.
Pam had tested her mother, and as she predicted: she failed.
I bet if , Mason or Claire looked this way, she would notice before they even put their hand on the door knob, Pam let out another sigh, Why me?
Pam was the middle child of the family, and she hated it with all the animosity in her body. Her mother always tended to her last; mostly because she’d looked like crap when compared to her brother and sister’s greatness. Her older brother, Mason was the prodigy of the family, skipping half of middle school and was about to graduate high school at just sixteen. He was excellent when it came to playing the violin; learning how to play six songs in just two weeks when he was five.
While her younger sister, Claire was a perfect ballerina, who kept elegance on and off the stage. She would always walk down the halls with flawless grace, keeping her head held high, and toes pointed upward, acting as if she was in front of a crowd.
Pam would be lying to herself, if she said she wasn’t a bit envious, because Pam was not an graceful dancer, neither was she a genius. No Pam was a c-average student, who couldn’t carry a tune let alone dance to one.

There’s a difference between an honest critique and being rude!
I copied and pasted this off my computer, so where there are no quotation markswhen it comes to thoughts, are in Italics. Sorry if this confused you.

This is very well written, are you a a pro? I’m also working on my new book. My 1st book was a hit, and my other two are just getting published. My 4th book is the sequel to my first, and I also needed help with it. Your use of vocabulary is very good. I write depressing stuff.

But still good stuff, lol.

I’m making a mix of country songs to play at my upcoming grad party. I want it to be a basic summary of the country music genre, including both old and new songs. No artist gets more than one song on the playlist (Exception: I included a song by Wynonna Judd and a song by The Judds, but they’re technically separate acts). I usually try to pick out an artists “signature tune.” I am especially interested in including songs by forgotten artists from past eras.

“I love you” I said as I smiled shyly into the beautiful face before me. Her name was Kate and we had dated for years. I had never spoken the words until that beautiful night on the beach. The soft, orange glow of the sunset illuminated her soft brown hair. Kate smiled softly and leaned forward, and whispered sweetly in my ear, “I love you too.” The feeling burst inside, I could not contain my happiness to hear her say those three, powerful words. The fear of rejection had eaten at me for months, and to finely say it, and hear it in return caused an unexplainable feeling. I smiled broadly, and held her hand. “Kaitlyn Marie, will you marry me?” I asked getting down on one knee, and opening a small ring box with a glistening diamond ring inside. My heart stopped, yet at the same time beated at an insane rate, and I felt it hard to breath. “Yes, I will!” she exclaimed joyfully, a tear streaking down her face. I slipped the small engagement ring slowly on her finger as we happily laughed softly. I stood up and looked down on my beautiful fiancé. “May I?” I asked holding out my hand down to her. Kate smiled, took my hand gently, and rose to her feet. We dance slowly, looking into each other’s eyes. “I love you so much” I whispered over and over again. It was all I could say; I was so happy and still a little shaky from the previous nervousness. I know you’re probably thinking “What? You didn’t kiss!” Truth be told, I, along with Kate, thought purity to be key. Neither of us would kiss or go any father than hugs and hand holding until marriage. Making it that much sweeter and special when the moment will finally come. “Let’s walk down the beach” Kate said with a smile. Kate always had a beautiful and unique personality. Never again would I meet such a magnificent girl in my life. She enjoyed simple things in life; walking in the rain, leaves falling in the fall, dancing under the stars; she was special. Her morals and faith were so remarkable, and was a huge part of what made her shine brightly among the dimly lit others. “Okay” I said as we started off, the sun to our backs. The ocean’s breeze blew softly, her hair blowing so calmly and perfectly. Her bare feet and beautiful white sundress complimented her stunning features well; her ring twinkling softly in the fading sunshine. “I’m speechless!” she burst out, a tear gently gliding down her cheek. “It doesn’t matter; your eyes say it all.” I said starring into hers. “How did I ever get lucky enough to get you?” I asked quizzically. “I mean, what made you ever look twice at a guy like me?” Kate laughed happily. “I was the lucky one. Besides, it was God’s plan all along.” I smiled, “God; who knew He had such an amazing future in store for me.” I looked at Kate, and than up to the sky. “Thanks” I said, the stars popping out one by one in the twilight sky.
“Tony, dance with me?” she asked, seeing the moon coming out. As I mentioned before, Kate found simple pleasure in her small term goals. One of those goals being to dance in the moonlight, wearing a white dress, with the ocean’s water’s lapping slowly ashore.
“Any day” I said taking her hand. I pulled her in close, smiled, than twirled her back out, than back into my arms. We swayed to and fro, my arms around hers; Kate laughed. “It’s just like I always pictured it” she said as I twirled her out again, the bottom of her lacy dress taking the shape of a bell. “I knew waiting, and not chasing, would do the trick,” She teased. I pulled her in close again, “I’m glad you did.”
“My mom will be so happy” Kate smiled, a happy, yet sad look appeared in her eyes, and I knew what she was thinking. “I’m sorry your dad didn’t live to walk you down the aisle Kate.” I said slowly, hugging her tightly. “Me too” she said, thinking. “I know that he is proud of you though, and that he will have the best seat in the house on our day!” I said reassuringly. Kate smiled, and I swayed slowly with her in my arms.
“So, where, my dear, do you want to be married?” I asked, trying to bring up her spirits again. Kate looked up at me smiling; “That’s one thing that has always been foggy.”
“What do you mean?” I asked. “I mean” she began, “ that I can’t figure out if I want to be married in the fall, in a wide open field, with brightly colored leaves flowing about..”
“Or?” “Or if I want to be married on the beach, with the sea breeze blowing in, and the soft sand beneath our feet.” I smiled, “I’m sure you’ll have a dream of it one night.”
By this time, the sun had completely set beneath the Earth, and the night was becoming briskly chilly. “Here” I said untying my sweater from around my waist, “Put this on.” I gently placed my blue jacket around her shoulders. “Hmm.” She sighed as she laid her head on my shoulder, “This night as been so romantic.” Kate suddenly laughed as if she had just remembered something. “I remember one time, at that Taco Shack, they had hot sauce packets, and one said on it, “Will you marry me?” “Kate started
chuckling again, “I remember being so afraid that I would end up getting a Taco from someone, and they use the packet to propose to me!” We stood there laughing. I picked up a white flower I had set aside and pinned it in her hair. I knew that this was who God had intended me to be with for the rest of my life; I just had not planned on the unexpected turning it upside down.
Sorry, it ran too long to fit into one page. Anyways, please be honest and tell me what you think of it. If you dislike it, than that’s just fine too!

But I had to do that so that my next part will make people really ‘feel’ for the moment. I’m planning on having Kate die in a dramatic and sudden way..than Tony goes crazy, etc. but ends up good in the end!

Seriously, you shouldn’t post any of your work on here.
It’s okay, but you should probably write in more imagery to really set the mood. Push your mind to write something different, because this sounds a bit too normal. Why save the mystery for the end? Put in tidbits throughout the intro.

Hey and be sure to not give up if you know you’re good at it – I wrote my first novel (335 pages) when I was 14, and I’m working on my second one and various other projects, and I’m just 17.
You just have to be optimistic and determined!

Destined For Domination enter the ring, Infamous Anderson is on the mic: You all saw What happened at week at Friday Night Wars, we ruined the main event!! We Kicked ass, why? because we can!! You see we have a very good reason for doing this but we won’t reveal it anytime soon, you people are too stupid to realize it! Also there’s more, although I am seem to be the leader of this group, there is a much bigger leader!! He is controlling our actions, he basically tells us what to do! He is interrupted by General Manager Ted DiBiase Jr: This is night is gonna be unforgettable. You see I have more than one MAJOR announcements. At War time there will be an 8 vs 8 Elimination Match. It will be the DFD vs King Cliff, Dylan Klein, Mr.Blood and Me!!!+Tonight We are gonna have some qualifying matches to determine the remaining four members. However there will be many twists and turns between tonight and War Time. Because right now I have decided to make the following match: It will be Wiz Kid and Josh Extremer vs the team of King Cliff and Mr.Blood, and that’s not all, it’s gonna be a no DQ match, but NO ONE is allowed to interfere, if anyone interferes they will be fired. Furthermore, the losers of the match have to quit there team and there team will have to face the other team in a 6-8 on handicap match at War Time, UNLESS they find 2 other members to join there team, and that match is next!!!
