The 5 Basic Laws of Success

Depending on who you read, there are any number of “Laws of Success”; some authors focus on a few, others create several. Whether you are reading Brian Tracey, Og Mandino, John Maxwell, or any of the other writers out there, you will get the ones they feel are important.

To me, there are 5 “Laws”, if you will, that you can start with. These “Laws” are commonly accepted by most success experts; they are, in Stephen Covey’s terms, “self-evident” and “universal”. Even if you find others you like, starting with these five will certainly get you going.

The Law of Correspondence

The Law of Correspondence says that your outside reflects your inside. In other words, how you think is reflected in the circumstances of your life. Perhaps the best writing on this law is James Allen’s “As a Man Thinketh.” As a consequence of this law, if you want to change your life, you need to change your thoughts first.

The Law of Abundance

The Law of Abundance says that the world is big enough for both you and I to succeed.

The opposite of the Law of Abundance says that for one person to succeed, another must fail; this is the rule of Back-Stabbing. The Law of Abundance says that we all can succeed. Therefore, you need not envy anyone or steal your goods; the world will work with you. As a consequence, people can become successful by helping others become successful.

The Law of Cause and Effect

This law implies that everything has a cause. If you are not wealthy, sick, unhappy, unappreciated, or working in a job you hate, there is a cause. And, when combined with the Law of Abundance, that cause is not the outside world, but you.

Again, change yourself and you will cause the effect of changing your world. Tommy Newberry best expressed this with the title of his book “Success is Not an Accident.”

The Law of Attraction

The movie “The Secret” popularized this law. It basically states that you attract what you are. If you are positive, you will attract positive results; the reverse is also true. As a consequence, you cannot get what you are not. You cannot say “I will be positive when my results are positive”; the law works the other way. You need to be a positive person first, then you will get the positive results.

The Law of the Farm

This is also known as the Law of Growth. The premise of this law is that people’s circumstances are like crops on a farm. When a farmer plants a crop in the spring, he does not get a harvest the next day; he must let the crop grow and get his harvest in the fall. Similarly, you cannot change one day and expect success the next; you must persevere, keep working your plan, and you will get the results in due time. Stephen Covey talks about this law, as does Og Mandino. As a corollary, this law also says that you reap what you sow. Just a farmer who plants corn gets corn and not potatoes, you will receive the crop based on the seeds you plant. Positive seeds will generate positive results, and negative seeds will generate negative results.

While there is much that can be said about each of these laws, I feel that you already know them. What you may not be doing is using them properly, and I encourage you to study writings on each of these laws to determine how you can best use them.

TORONTO — The Ontario government secretly passed legislation giving police sweeping new powers for the duration of the G8 and G20 summits.

Police are now able to jail anyone who refuses to furnish identification and submit to a search while within five metres of a designated security zone in downtown Toronto.

Critics reacted furiously to the new rules, which remained unpublicized until Thursday when a 32 year-old man was arrested in Toronto for refusing to show ID to police.

New Democrat MPP Peter Kormos said Friday the provincial Liberals created a “Kafka-esque” situation where people could be arrested for violating rules they didn’t know existed.

“This is very very repugnant stuff and should be troubling to everybody,” he said.

The Canadian Civil Liberties Association (CCLA) said it was “extremely concerned” that the new measures violate constitutional safeguards

One of my bosses where I work does not want me there, anymore despite the fact that I am a hard worker. He calls me on my phone and talk smack, hoping I’d give a bullshit answer to say “aha” or whenever we are alone he talks things just to get me to mess up. So far I am doing a good job not falling into his trap. Can i secretly record our conversation to cover my ass, just in case?

Yes, you can record the conversation between you and your boss without him knowing. As long as one of the parties in the communication is doing the recording, it is legal. You just can’t record a conversation between two other people without their permission.

Edit: Actually, Mr. Placid is WRONG! He doesn’t understand how to interpret the statute. To “intercept” is to record a conversation that you are not already a party to. You are not intercepting a call if you are already a party to it and if you are already a party to the call, you can record it without the other party’s consent. So if you don’t believe me, and want to know for sure, I would suggest you go ask a lawyer in your jurisdiction. I read the statute and it just says what I said. Some people don’t understand statutes, as they are usually not written for a layman. Go ahead and read it and see what you think and if you don’t understand it ask a lawyer.

I would like to know who believes it or not and why? Personally I absolutely believe in it. And it makes me so very upset when others dont. I dunno why. I just want to preach it to them but I know thats never good. I just dont see why you wouldnt believe. I think the secret should be the worlds version of the bible. I feel the ones that dont believe dont understand the concept fully. Its more than just wanting sonmething and it appearing. Its not magic. I know I probably went on too much with all that but what do you think???

To me it’s not so secret, people are attracted to the physical at first sight, it’s absolute. That is why you want to dress nice and smell good, it craves the attention and reward that comes along the way. Some don’t care too much, they are free of posession, like the poor as well. These are content and don’t worry too much about the other people taking so much time fixing themselves in vain. I do believe in attraction, and infatuation, real love is not here, for it is developed through time and bonding, and that is more than just attraction in my opinion. Take care now.

Each year it seems the discontinued Sig P228 achieves a more heralded status. As one of the classic Sigs, it is deserving of these praises. Like its slightly larger sibling and “Warrior Excellence” pistol the Sig P226, the P228 inherits its almost magical hitting capabilities. It can make even mediocre shooters (like me sometimes!) look good. It was ground breaking in its superb ergonomics which consist of a high tracton grip and ideal grip angle, superb 4.4 lb single action trigger, Von Stavenhagen sights, no nonsense cocking serrations, mag release, beveled mag well, and perfect balance. The P228 in its original form lacked my preferred squared trigger guard (like P226) in its forged aluminum frame but its absence detracts little from its capabilities. In hand the Sig P228 inspires a level of confidence that many pistols lack. It is supremely accurate and fast firing. Sig originated the barrel breech lockining into the slide (a variation of J. Browning’s design) which is extremely reliable and, in unison with full length slide rails like the P210, responsible for this standard-setting accuracy. This is Law of Attraction, one of the best kept secrets since the beginning of civilization. In this article, I will share you my story about how I get prosperity and better health. The road to happiness and success is different for everyone because each person is unique in their own ways. Many people will search their whole lives to find true happiness and success, but many of them will fail. The reasons for their failures can be endless. If only they knew about one of the strongest laws in the universe, their success rate would be much higher. This law, known as the Law of Attraction, is one of the best kept secrets since the beginning of civilization. It is a law that only the rich and powerful knew about. Before the invention of mass media, not many ordinary people knew about this law. In simple terms, the Law of Attraction is a universal law based on the power of our thoughts and intentions; our emotions can magnify those thoughts, and then nature can manifest them into reality. It is important to know that the manifestation takes time. If you lose your thoughts of focus, the manifestation may not happen or may take longer.

The philosophy behind the Law of Attraction comes down to your thoughts and nature. Unlike our mind, nature doesn’t judge the differences between right or wrong. If you are thinking about negative things all the time, sooner or later nature will give you what you want in one form or another. For example, if you want to get out of debt, stop thinking about debt and think about wealth. If you want to be happy, think about positive things instead of negative things. Once you understood how this law works, it is important that you don’t use it for greed and selfishness. It is important to know that this law is always working, even if you don’t believe in it. Also, keep in mind that the Law of Attraction can backfire at you. For example, if you think negative thoughts about people, the thoughts may manifest into your reality too. Like people said, “be careful what you wish for because it may come true.” The great thing about the Law of Attraction is that it is universal, no matter your religion, race or gender.

as a tool of subjugation rather than empowerment ? I mean to tell someone that has experienced abuse and victimisation they are responsible, this only happens to you because you draw it on yourself, you are creating the reality is irresponsible and dangerous philosophy in some respects. One of my brothers says this to because of my experiences with bullies and emotionally abusive people (including him). His logic is that the things that happen to me happen nowhere near as frequently to him or other members of my family (who all have been assholes to me in various senses). If these things do happen to me it is because I am a soft target, gentle, quiet, I feel guilty if I snuff out the life of a spider let alone hurt a person. But, I do not draw it to myself in a law of attraction sense. It feels really shitty that someone who has made fun of me at my expense or put me down or tried to dent my confidence is now giving me tips on the law of attraction and saying all of this is my fault. It seems like the bullies justification you know. Phoebe Prince did not draw the animals that bullied her to death recently and I do not draw scumbags either into my life but they are out there. Anyway, it seems sometimes like a double blow to start spouting law of attraction stuff to someone that has been insulted and abused in some way you know? Can I really trust my brother who has been one of the people that stepped on my head to feel good and get ahead? Is that a person really on my side who then tells me I am attracting the behaviour from him and the other members of the family? I think there is a logic in the law of attraction do not get me wrong. Positivity is always better than negativity but **** happens too you know that is not any persons fault
