Before a man says his marriage vows to the woman he loves, it is customary that he hits the town with a huge group of his closest friends for a night of adventure, dancing, karaoke, pranks, stunts, sports and drunken exploits. Stag dos are a tradition that celebrates the fact that boys will be boys, and it should be a fun experience full of good laughs.

If you are in charge of organizing a Stag do, how can you make sure that you and your friends have the most awesome weekend possible?

Here are some tips for planning Stag dos:

1. Always Book Early

Maybe you are a fly-by-the-seat of your pants kind of a guy, but when it comes to planning Stag dos you need to be organized if you want the best choice of activities. Most Stag dos need to be planned at least 3-4 months in advance.

If you will be travelling abroad for the stag do, you will need to book flights, hotels and acquire travel insurance, so leave plenty of time for this.

2. Decide on Activities

Now that you know that you need to start planning early, you are already thinking of which activities you and your friends should do.

Of course, stag dos are all about making sure that the groom has a good time. It is his party, after all! He should have final approval of all activities and if he has a set out plan in his mind then you should go with what he wants. But what if he says he doesnt mind what you do, as long as it is something everyone will enjoy? This New Year DC, I would like every one to seriously evaluate their mutual Facebook friendships.  On one hand, your face book friends are your real friends because you take time to have “conversations” with them, you share special moments with each other, you tell each other “Happy Birthday”, make plans (events) together, and so much more.  Then again, if you hardly ever see someone in person or you can “un-friend” or “block” them with the click of a mouse, how much of friends are you really?  When the only way you know what someone is doing or thinking is by viewing their photos and having them “like” your statuses, is that a true form of associating with your buddies?

Sure, Facebook is a great place to “meet” new people.  You can make friends with people who share similar interests as you through mutual friends, groups and events, learn a lot more about someone in five minutes of reading their profile that you could in five minutes of speaking to them face to face, and so much more.  However, a better way to form a legitimately friendly relationship between two or more people is to actually spend quality time with each other.  There are so many things to do New Year DC, like the New Year’s Eve Gala in the Washington Hilton Ballroom, where close friends can mingle with other people.  Not only are events like the Gala great opportunities to spend time with your companions, they are great ways to form new bonds as well.

There is no doubt about how easy it is to instantly want to become acquainted with someone based on what you read on their Facebook Wall.  However, at some point, you are bound to realize that although you may have hundreds of Facebook friends (most of whom you have rarely or never seen in person), very few of them can actually be considered real life friends.  That being said, I encourage you to clean up your “friends” list during the New Year DC– deeply consider whom you would like to continue spending several minutes each day reading about, and whom you would rather befriend in reality.

Gozie, The New Youtube?

Gozie, The New Youtube?
on regulary. The banner advertisement mentioned the site is dedicated to providing the average
user with an overall better video hosting experience. I was curious how they were going to do this,
so I visited the site. My first reactions was “well, they’re not as big as youtube”. But after
analyzing their site, and researching them on Google, I found out a LOT of information!

So their concept on providing the average user with an overall better video hosting service,
is actually quite amazing. The owner of the website implemented a system so that these average
users can upload videos, and receive up to 10x more views to their videos than on Youtube. Why is that?
This is because Youtube, is truely only about money. Your chances getting popular without already being
popular, is now quite slim. Youtube used to be a great community, and many people have gotten famous from it.
Unfortunately now, it practically requires either being a celebrity, or a massive Youtube partner to receive
a decent amount of views. Another great thing about Gozie.com is the Founder has announced that they will NEVER
have video advertisements! They will, however, have one ad beside videos, and one above videos. Those aren’t bad though,
Youtube has both video advertisements, and side ads! It’s crazy! Youtube’s gone overboard with ads! Don’t tell me
they need to to help pay for staff, servers, and more advertising. I have experience with internet marketing as-well,
and the two ads on Gozie.com will still be more then enough to bring a fat profit to Gozie.

Gozie does not have Vevo, either. Which is great in my opinion, Vevo removes “inapropreate” lyrics. If a song
has inapropreate lyrics, it’s meant to! You can’t just remove lyrics from a song, it ruins it! It has also
been said that Gozie does not remove videos due to copyright laws. I, however, do not believe this. Apparently
it has not been confirmed with the administrator, which makes sense. I do, however, see many videos on the website
in which would have been removed from Youtube a LONG time ago. Maybe they’re short staff, or hey, maybe they really
don’t remove videos after being approved.

I did, however, also find a little bit of bad news about Gozie. There’s been spam comments on many Youtube videos
in which say “Switch to Gozie for a better video viewing experience”. It also has not been confirmed who these comments
are coming from, but as mentioned in the article below:

The comments could be from a private group on Gozie, in which could have been created by any member. It could also
be the advertising team in which the admin hired. It could also very well be the administrator of Gozie; but as
stated in the above URL, the author of the article researched the admin of Gozie, and found he ran multiple
websites. None of them have a reputation for spam, so why would he make Gozie his first? Also, he also
stated he never received any spam from Gozie via email, nor have I. I think if a spammer was unethical
enough to spam Youtube, they would probably spam via email as-well.

How does a mongoose stand up to a cobra? You might be surprised at the outcome.
