I have an iMac version 10.6.8 & I’m trying to transfer HD videos to iPhoto but it doesn’t even recognize that there are any. I’ve searched around but can’t find any solid answers.

Your Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-HX9V shot video in the .mts format which is not supported/recognized by iPhoto/iMovie/QuickTime.

You may need a video converter program to convert the .mts video to the Mac supported .mov format.
